SFTC picks for March 2

I had an OK day today, going 5 - 4.  I had a feeling the Nuggets and Suns might win, which they did.  It's OK though.  I'm on a W3 to start the month.  No need to rush it.  Most people that start out fast get passed up in the middle or end of the month.

I haven't gotten much feedback yet from those visiting the site.  I'd really like to know your opinions.  I'm adding a poll today, so be sure to check it out.  I really want to know if you like my "top picks" for each sport, or if you want analysis of every pick.  In addition to or instead of visiting the poll, please take time to comment on this post and let me know what you think.  Thank you!

For tomorrow, Saturday March 2, these are my top picks for SFTC.  I will also put my picks for the monthly wins contest below them.  A * indicates that the same or similar pick is also featured on Streak It Up.

Basketball:
NCAAM:
*1)  Vanderbilt Commodores
Reasons:  Vandy is favored by only 2 in this game.  They beat Auburn by 12 last time they played at Vandy.  Vanderbilt is definitely not the team they were last year, but Auburn is just not good.
Confidence:  70%

2)  Any Other Result (Florida vs Alabama prop)
Reasons:  Florida is favored by 16 and have won their last 8 home games by an average of 17.4 points.  However, they have lost to Missouri and Tennessee in the last couple weeks, so they are struggling a bit lately.  They should have their full team healthy and ready for this game, but I think Alabama covers here.
Confidence:  60%

NBA:
1)  Golden State Warriors
Reasons: The 76ers are favored by 1, but the Warriors are desperate to finish out their road trip with a win, and the 76ers have been struggling mightily lately.  I wouldn't put a high streak on this game though.
Confidence:  60%

2)  Chicago Bulls
Reasons: The Bulls have had great success over the Nets, winning 12 of their last 15.  The Bulls are at home for this game and are favored by 5, but the Nets have been very good on the road, and the Bulls are still without Taj Gibson and Kirk Henrich.  I think Noah carries them to a close win.
Confidence:  60%

Other Sports:
LAX:
1)  Maryland
Reasons: Maryland beat Duke in I believe the semifinals of the lacrosse national playoffs last year. Duke lost a few of their key players, and are not having the same caliber of season that they had last year.  Maryland is ranked #1 and is undefeated so far.  Maryland should win this easily, but Duke is at home, it may be close.
Confidence:  80%

Golf:
1)  David Lynn or Tie
Reasons:  I'm gonna go out on a limb with this one and pick Lynn to tie.  Lynn shot a +2 and -3 in his first two rounds on these holes (1 - 9), while Tiger shot an E and -1.  I wouldn't pick this with higher than a W5.  I'm also leaning toward Lynn because it's a hot picks and there is about 90% on Tiger.  In this scenario, the lower percentage pick usually wins the prop.
Confidence:  50%

NHL:
1)  Boston Bruins
Reasons:  The Bruins are red-hot right now, winning 5 straight, and are 5 - 1 - 1 at home.  The Lightning have been going in the opposite direction, losing their last 3.  The Lightning have also been doing very poorly at goal-tending, and the Bruins offense is pretty productive.  I'd be very surprised if the Lightning won here.
Confidence:  80%

2)  Anaheim Ducks
Reasons:  The Ducks are now 15 - 3 - 1, and are one of the hottest teams in the league right now. They have an impressive 7 - 2 - 1 road record, and average 3.4 goals/game on the road.  Because of the shortened schedule they will be playing the Coyotes a lot in the next couple weeks.  I think the Ducks continue their hot streak here.
Confidence:  70%

Soccer:
1)  Seattle Sounders: Win
Reasons:  The Sounders are one of the best teams in the MLS.  I don't know that much about the Impact, but Seattle should win, especially since they are at home.
Confidence:  70%

2)  Manchester United: Win by 2+
Reasons:  Manchester United is the best team in the Premier League this year, 12 points ahead of Manchester City in the League table.  My concerns in this match though are that Norwich City beat United 1 - 0 last time they played each other, and United may be somewhat looking ahead to their game against Real Madrid on Tuesday.  United usually takes care of business at home though.
Confidence:  50%

If you are going for the Stash, my top 3 picks are:
  1. Boston Bruins
  2. Any Other Result (Ok. St. vs Texas)
  3. Seattle Sounders
If you are going for the monthly wins prize, my picks are:
  1. David Lynn or Tie
  2. Maryland
  3. Marquette
  4. Any Other Result (Ok. St. vs Texas)
  5. Shane Larkin/Durand Scott or Tie
  6. Kansas State
  7. Muhammad or Adams or Tie
  8. Yes, 1+ 3pt. made
  9. Seattle Sounders
I hope my picks help you build the best possible streak!  Good Luck!
