Great Day Yesterday, SFTC Picks March 5

Man, I was on a roll yesterday, going 15 - 3 on the day!  I hope I can keep it up for you guys!  Thank you to all of you who have voted on the poll question.  It is great to get your feedback, and from what I've gotten, the every pick (plus top 2) with write-ups option is the clear favorite.  Thanks for making your voices known.  This site is a lot of fun for me, and it's great to see that the site is being visited and people are gleaning from it.

It is getting late and I have school early tomorrow, so I probably won't do many write-ups today.  I'll do my best though.

My top 3 "stash" picks for tomorrow:
  1. NCAAM:  Notre Dame wins by double digits
  2. NCAAM:  Duke Wins by 20+
  3. NCAAM:  Cody Zeller + Victor Oladipo
My picks for every prop:
  1. Other:  Metallurg Magnitogorsk
    • In the last 5 times these teams have played, each game except for 1 has been decided by 1 goal.  Metallurg has won 3 of them, and the home team has won every time except 1.  The odds slightly favor Metallurg here and they are at home for this game.
    • Confidence:  70%
  2. Soccer:  Manchester United
    • United and RM played to a 1 - 1 draw in leg 1.  RM has been playing very well of late, beating Barcelona twice in the last couple of weeks.  United is also in very good form, and I give the edge to them since they're at home.
    • Confidence:  70%
  3. Soccer:  Any Other Player
    • Last game between these two, Danny Welbeck for United scored first.  This could really go either way.  I don't think the no goal scored will factor in at all.
    • Confidence: 50%
  4. Soccer:  2 or 3 goals (Shaktar Donetsk  @ Borussia Dortmund)
    • Last time these 2 teams played, the result was a 2 - 2 draw.  I expect Dortmund to win, and hopefully it will be a slightly lower scoring game.
    • Confidence: 60%
  5. Soccer:  0 or 1 goal
    • Last time, no goals were scored in the second half, but I'd wait to see how the first half goes.
    • Confidence: 50%
  6. NCAAM:  Arkansas Win or Single Digit Loss
    • Missouri is favored by exactly 10, and Arkansas is 1 - 8 on the road, but last time the played in Arkansas, Arkansas won by 2.  I think Arkansas will keep it close.
    • Confidence:  70%
  7. NCAAM:  Arkansas: Number of players to score in the first half
    • In their last game, Arkansas had 8 players that scored in the first half.  The tie option for Mizzou may be huge, and this could really go either way.
    • Confidence:  50%
  8. NCAAM:  Duke Wins by 20+
    • Last time these 2 played, Duke won at Virginia Tech by 32.  And they didn't have Ryan Kelly then.  This time they are at home and have Kelly back, who's coming off a monstrous debut vs Miami last Saturday.
    • Confidence: 80%
  9. NCAAM:  Notre Dame wins by double digits
    • This is senior night for Notre Dame and Jack Cooley and company will want to win big on their last night on their home floor.  St. Johns has won the last 3 in New York, and Notre Dame has won the last 6 of 7 home meetings.  St. Johns has suspended their star point guard, De'Angelo Harrison for the rest of the season.  They also have a couple other players out due to injury.
    • Confidence: 80%
  10. NHL:  New Jersey Devils
    • The Devils play well at home.
    • Confidence: 60%
  11. NHL:  Columbus Blue Jackets
    • I'm just feeling Columbus in this one.
    • Confidence: 50%
  12. NHL:  Boston Bruins
    • Hopefully the Bruins aren't too tired.
    • Confidence: 50%
  13. NHL:  Montreal Canadiens
    • The Canadiens are playing great hockey right now, beating the Bruins a couple days ago.
    • Confidence: 70%
  14. NBA:  Boston Celtics
    • Confidence:  80%
  15. NHL:  Winipeg Jets
    • Confidence: 70%
  16. NCAAM:  Ohio State: Win or Single Digit Loss
    • Indiana is favored by 8 right now, and they won by 13 at Ohio State earlier this season, but in order for Ohio State to claim a share of the Big 10 title, they have to win this game.  They will be extremely motivated to do this, and should keep this game close if not win.  The only concern is that Ohio State is 0 - 5 against ranked opponents on the road.  They will need to break this streak like they did at the end of last season.
    • Confidence: 70%
  17. NCAAM:  Cody Zeller + Victor Oladipo
    • I'm hard-pressed to find a reason not to take these two.  Besides Watford, they are the leading scorers for IU.  DeShaun Thomas is a great scorer as well, but I think Smith will bring their side down in this prop.
    • Confidence: 80%
  18. NCAAM:  Alabama: 3 pointers made
    • Ole Miss is favored by 5.  Alabama averages 5.35 3s made per game.  Ole Miss is coming off a very bad loss to Mississippi St.  Ole Miss is at home, but I wouldn't be surprised if Alabama wins this game.
    • Confidence: 70%
  19. NBA:  Oklahoma City Thunder win by double digits
    • Last time this prop featured OKC vs Chicago, and Chicago got blown out.  I expect the same with the Lakers.
    • Confidence:  70%
  20. NHL:  Vancouver Canucks
    • The Sharks have not fared well at all on the road.  Vancouver seems to lose a few when they are featured on here though.  Still, they are at home and should win.
    • Confidence: 70%
  21. NCAAM:  36 points or fewer
    • You should check the score at halftime, but Ohio State is a very good defensive team.  However, last time these 2 played, Indiana scored 40 in the 2nd half.
    • Confidence: 50%
  22. NHL:  Los Angeles Kings
    • The Kings are at home again, and the Blues struggle on the road.  They lost their last road game to the Dallas Stars.  The Kings are playing great hockey right now.
    • Confidence:  70%

  1. Hi Clark. Congrats! Really great Day Yesterday. Especially Toronto and Cleveland against all odds. Even if the Cavaliers lost, it was a good advice.
Good luck for today, and keep on with this website. Great Job!
