Streak for the Cash Picks for Wednesday, April 10

Now that the college basketball tournaments are over, we will be posting soon the results from our Tournament Challenge group and how our site's entries fared for Tournament Challenge, Women's Tournament, and College Hoops Pick'em.  We will post them on the Basketball Games site, and maybe on here as well.  So look for those to come soon.

Also remember to click on the Baseball Games tab above to catch our picks for Beat the Streak!  Look for picks for 4/10 to come soon.

We really appreciate all of the support we've received over the last couple of days!  We hope you'll continue to spread the word!  We'd love any feedback about how we can improve the site as well.

There were some really unexpected results, and quite a few of the props that were "hot" and had 95+ percent of pickers lost, including Real Madrid, Dodgers, and Mariners.  But tomorrow is always a new day, and Stunt Day is right around the corner!!

The picks below that are marked with a * are also featured on Streak It Up.

Our top "stash" pick:
  1. NHL:  Boston Bruins
Our picks for all props:
  1. Other:  CSKA Moscow wins by double digits
    • These teams have not played each other for 3 years, so its hard to say how they compare and who will win.  One comparison is that they both recently played a team called Unicaja, and CSKA Moscow won by 4 on the road, and Caja Laboral lost by 19 on the road.  CSKA is also at home for this match, so I like them to get the double-digit win here.  I would skip this prop with a streak higher than 5 though.
    • Confidence:  50%
  2. Soccer: Barcelona Win by 2+
    • After drawing the last match in Paris, PSG and Barca return to the Camp Nou to play the second leg of the UCL quarter-final.  If either one of these teams can win this match they will move on to the semi-finals.  I think most people who do not follow soccer too much will assume that Barcelona playing without Messi would be like the Lakers without Kobe or the Patriots without Brady.  But Barcelona is not the best team in the world thanks to only one player.  Yes, Messi is the 4 time defending Player of the Year (in the world), but Barca has a slew of other players who are considered on par with Messi and are in there own right, some of the world's best.  Xavi, Iniesta, Mascherano, and Pique are just a few of the great Barcelona players who will help pick up for a Messi-less Barca.  Now, don't get me wrong, PSG has some amazing talent as well and has a chance of winning this match, but after seeing what Barca did to AC Milan in the second leg of the last round, I don't think PSG can hang on against Barca.
    • Confidence 60%
  3. *Soccer: Barcelona lead 1-0 or 2-0 at half
    • These props are tough.  I don't know what Barcelona's manager Tito Vilanova's strategy will be in this match without Messi.  I can only imagine that he will play the match just as Barcelona always does and he will hope to control possession.  Even without Messi, I have to believe that Barca will still be Barca and as they smother PSG with possession, they will take a lead into the half.
    • Confidence 50%
  4. Soccer: Bayern Munich Win
    • In the first meeting, Bayern simply looked like the better squad.  They took 23 total shots compared to only 9 for Juventus.  Yes this game will be back in Italy, but Bayern is too dominant and I believe after losing in the UCL final last season, they are poised to make it back and win it all this season.
    • Confidence 70%
  5. MLB:  San Francisco Giants
    • The Giants have won the first two of this series, and are the line is SF -140.  Barry Zito will take the mound for the Giants.  He was spectacular in his lone start this season, going 7 innings, giving up 0 runs, and only 3 hits in a  1 - 0 win over St. Louis.  The Rockies will counter with Jeff Francis, who also had a very solid start in his last game.  I think Zito and the Giants get the series sweep here though.
    • Confidence: 60%
  6. Soccer: 66 minute or later or no goal
    • Again, I have no idea how to make this prediction.  If Barca take a lead into the half like I predicted they would above, I think Barcelona will make it very hard for PSG to get the ball and will make scoring very difficult on them to score.  Barca is many things, but above all, they are patient.  They do not try and force long ball passes and instead prefer to work their way up the field through a series of short 5 yard passes.  So I have to guess that Barca, being patient, will not score in the first 20 min of the half and will wait until the field opens and they wear down the PSG defense.
    • Confidence 60%
  7. *NBA: Atlanta Hawks
    • The Hawks are better than the Sixers.  Yes the Hawks have lost 3 straight and have only won 4 of their last 10 games, but this is the exact game that they need start winning again.  The Sixers are not playing all that hot themselves and well, have not really played hot all season. So, give it to the Hawks.
    • Confidence 60%
  8. NBA: Cleveland Cavaliers
    • Cavs vs. Pistons.  Wow, that sure is one exciting game (side note, I am in Cleveland for work and had the option of going to this game, I chose against it, I'll go on Friday instead to see the Knicks), well, I don't know if exciting is the word I would use.  Let's just say, neither of these teams are too good, so the only thing that stands out to me is that the Cavs are at home and they will have the best player on the court, Kyrie Irving.
    • Confidence 60%
  9. *NHL:  Boston Bruins
    • The Devils are mired in a seven game losing streak and are in danger of missing the playoffs since they are in 10th place in their division and 2 points back of the last playoff spot.  They are desperate for a win in order to make the playoffs.  Unfortunately for them, they face the Boston Bruins, who have completely dominated them, winning 6 straight and 10 of 11 against them.  The Bruins also allow among the fewest goals in the league, at 2.08.  With the Devils star forward still injured and their goalie going winless against Boston in his last 8, the Bruins seem like the clear pick.  My only hesitation is that the Devils are at home and are desperate for a win.
    • Confidence: 80%
  10. MLB:  Kansas City Royals
    • I'm going to take what may seem like a risky pick and go with the Royals to sweep their first series over the Twins in 2 years.  The Royals started out the season a little shaky, but have been on fire since then.  Both of these pitchers had rough outings in their last game, but they should bounce back.  The line is Royals -145, and they should get the series sweep here at home.
    • Confidence: 70%
  11. NBA: Brooklyn Nets
    • Nets win. Why? Let me just copy and paste the Celtic's injury report
    • Boston
So well, who knows who'll be playing for the Celtics. Now lets look at the Nets:
    • Brooklyn
      No significant injuries
A fully healthy Boston squad would struggle to beat a fully healthy Nets team, so with all those injuries and questions of who will be playing, not to mention the Celtics are also without Rajon Rondo, I have to give the nod to the Nets.
    • Confidence 60%
  12. NBA:  Yes Either team will lead by 5+ at half time
    • Stupid prop.  Pick at your own will.
    • Confidence: 50%
  13. NBA:  Nets more 3rd quarter points or tie
    • For all the reasons listed above, I have to believe the Nets will score more than the Celtics in the third quarter.
    • Confidence: 50%
  14. NHL:  Phoenix Coyotes
    • I like the Coyotes to get a win on the road here and close the gap between themselves and the final playoff spot out west, and here's why.  They have had the Oilers' number recently, going 5 - 0 - 1 in their last 6 visits to Edmonton, and 10 - 1 - 2 in their last 13 against them.  Also, the Coyotes' goalie, Mike Smith, is 4 - 0 - 1 with a 1.75 GAA against Edmonton since he joined the Coyotes a couple of years ago.
    • Confidence: 70%
  15. MLB:  Los Angeles Angels
    • I highly doubt the Angels lose two in a row, especially in their first home series.  They will need Blanton to pitch much better than he did last game, but I think they can do it.  The line is Angels -137, and their talented hitters will get going soon enough so that they don't start the season like they did last year and then miss the playoffs.
    • Confidence: 70%
  16. *MLB:  San Diego Padres
    • I really got burned yesterday by taking the Dodgers.  Over 110,00 streakers did too.  Eric Stults had a very solid start for the Padres against the Mets, going 5 innings with 7Ks and only 3 hits.  Billingsley has not pitched yet this season.  He was recovering from an elbow injury that keep him out a lot of last year, so it's hard to know how he'll come out, although he hasn't been very impressive in the spring games.
    • Confidence: 60%
  17. Soccer:  3 or more goals
    • In this match-up last week these two squads met the final score was 2-1.  I can't guarantee that there will be a repeat of the same scoreline, but since the Galaxy need to  not only win this game, but win by 2+ but need to get some goals on the road.  So if the Galaxy hope to win, they need to put many shots on goal if they hope to win.
    • Confidence: 60%
  18. *NBA: Denver Nuggets
    • This should be the game of the night.  This is one of those games that you invite friends over to watch with some snacks and cold drinks and then just sit back and enjoy some exciting basketball.  I don't know exactly how the Nuggets are doing it, but they are one of the best teams out west since the All Star break.  The Spurs on the other hand are cooling off a little bit over the past few games.  They are fighting to stay on top out west but I think even without Gallinari and Lawson, the Nuggets will get the win at home.
    • Confidence 60%
