SFTC picks for April 7

It's really late again so we will just give our picks for now, and add more write-ups in the morning.  It's imperative that you check back often, as our initial picks may change!

We will also post our picks for Beat the Streak in the morning.  So far we are 14 - 4 in our BTS picks, so be sure and click on the Baseball Games tab to check them out.

If you haven't yet, we encourage you to follow us on Twitter and share our site with everyone you know.  We have gotten great support, especially during this past week, and we thank you so much for it!  We also encourage you to vote on our poll question (actually I guess if there are no votes that means the site is working perfectly :) ) and join our group for Streak for the Cash.  And don't forget to keep reading the James Lee Sports Report, you won't regret it.

Our top "stash" pick:
  1. NBA:  Dallas Mavericks
Our picks for tomorrow:
  1. Soccer:  Everton win or draw
    • Gareth Bale is still out for Totthenham with an injured ankle.  These two last met on Dec. 9, a game which Everton won at home 2 - 1.  Everton is not too many spots below Tottenham in the league table, and without Bale, Everton has a great shot to at least draw.
    • Confidence:  60%
  2. NHL:  St. Louis Blues
    • The Blues have been playing well of late, and if they win this game they will move ahead of Detroit in the conference standings.  Jimmy Howard has been a consistent goalie for the Red Wings, but his 4.43GAA against the Blues is his worse than against any other opponent.  The Blues have proven they can win on the road, demonstrated by their 11 - 7 - 1 road record.
    • Confidence: 60%
  3. Golf:  Billy Horschel or Jim Furyk
    • Horschel has the overall lead at -10.  Furyk shares second at -8.  Everyone else is at -6 or lower in the standings.
    • Confidence:  70%
  4. NBA: OKC Thunder winning margin or tie
    • The Thunder are only favored by 8 in this game and the Knicks average 10.7 threes made per game.  However, the Thunder have been money at home, and have won consistently on SFTC when they are at home, almost always covering the winning margin.
    • Confidence:  60%
  5. MLB:  Boston Red Sox
    • Confidence:  60%
  6. Other:  Car numbered 1 - 40
    • Confidence: 40%
  7. Tennis:  19 games or fewer
    • Confidence: 60%
  8. MLB:  Philadelphia Phillies
    • Confidence:  50%
  9. MLB:  Arizona Diamondbacks
    • Confidence:  70%
  10. Other:  Oklahoma wins by 4+ runs
    • Confidence: 70%
  11. NBA: Los Angeles Clippers
    • Uhh, I have not the slightest clue at this point in the season what to expect from the Lakers.   The Lakers have played 76 games and mixed with those awful losses this season have been moments where they look like the team everyone expected them to be.  The Lakers need this win and any win they can get to fend off the Jazz for the 8th spot.  The Clippers are the better team and are playing on their "home court" (the court will say Clippers, but its the same building the Lakers play in and the Lakers have a much nicer locker room than the Clips), but this game really comes down to which Lakers team decides to show up.  The Clippers have been struggling a little bit lately, so this game is huge for them as well to secure home court advantage in the first round.  I don't have a lot of confidence in picking the Clippers, but this should be a good game.
    • Confidence:  50%
  12. MLB:  San Francisco Giants
    • Confidence:  50%
  13. Soccer:  New York Red Bulls win or draw
    • Four matches into the season and the Red Bulls have 4 points while the Fire have just one point.  Neither team has looked great to this point in the season, so I'm gonna have to go with the Red Balls, whoops, I mean the Red Bulls.
    • Confidence:  50%
  14. NHL:  Minnesota Wild
    • Confidence:  40%
  15. NCAAW:  California Golden Bears
    • Confidence: 60%
  16. NCAAW:  Louisville leading at halftime or tied
    • Confidence: 40%
  17. NHL:  Buffalo Sabres
    • Confidence: 60%
  18. MLB:  Texas Rangers
    • Confidence: 50%
  19. MLB:  4 Strikeouts or more
    • Confidence: 80%
  20. NCAAW:  Notre Dame Fighting Irish
    • Confidence: 70%
  21. NCAAW:  Skylar Diggins + Natalie Achonwa
    • Confidence: 70%
  22. NBA:  New Orleans Hornets
    • This is coming from a die-hard Suns fan, I hope the Hornets win this game and the Suns lose all the rest of their games.  Season is over, lets just get as many balls in the lottery as possible and hope for the top pick.  I mean, the Phoenix Mercury won the WNBA lottery and are now gonna get to draft Brittney Griner, maybe the Suns will win this lottery and get to draft... wait, this NBA draft class sucks.  Come on Suns, suck it up next year too and maybe we can draft Jabari Parker or Andrew Wiggins.  But all this aside, the Hornets are only slightly better than the Suns and the game is in Phoenix, so NOLA could lose, but I expect them to give the Suns their 9th straight loss.
    • Confidence: 50%
  23. NBA:  Dallas Mavericks
    • The Mavs have fallen back to 3 games behind the 8th spot out west.  At this point, there is not much hope left for them to make the playoffs.  Just a couple of weeks ago, the Blazers too where still in the hunt for the final playoff spot, but 7 straight losses later and all their playoff hopes have evaporated.  The Blazers have won twice as many games this season at home as they have on the road, and since this game is at home, it may present a challenge for the Mavs, but home or away, the Blazers are struggling right now and the Mavs should be victorious tonight.
    • Confidence: 80%
  24. NCAAW:  Notre Dame first to 10 points
    • Confidence: 70%
