For all 6 of you who regularly read our blog, thanks for checking it out. I am sure you are wondering why it has been different the past few days. First off, our head writer Clark has been busy with his finals at the end of the semester and I am just always busy working my real job. No sadly this blog is not paying the bills. But like I mentioned, our head writer Clark is so busy with school that he does not have a chance to review this page and see what I write. I bet I could write whatever I want and he would have no idea. So I thought I would put that to the test...
First off, lets talk about movies. I did not see Iron Man 3. How was it? I think I may be getting sick of superhero movies. They are all, for the most part, the exact same. With the exception of the Dark Knight Trilogy I think I just may be tired of the same old superhero story lines. Tomorrow The Great Gatsby comes out. Yeah I read the book, in High School. And by saying I read the book in High School, we all know that means I checked out the synopsis online and BS'd the entire report. But guess what, of course I am going to see this movie, for one reason, Leonardo DiCaprio. He is the best actor alive. Don't believe me, name one bad movie he has done recently. Take a look at his imdb page and you'll become a believer too.
Now lets move on to music. I just came across a couple of great albums that you all need to check out. The first is by a band called Brighten. Their new album "Peace and Quiet" is incredible. I have listened to it non stop the past 24 hours and have not heard anything better than it all year. Check it out.
The second album that you all need to take a listen to is a solo album by an artist named Ryan Green. He is in a band called Ryanhood, which is one of my all time favorite bands. He just released his solo project called "The Great Collision". This album is what would happen if John Mayer, Coldplay, The Police and Ryanhood all got together to make a baby. Their baby would be this album, so take a listen and support these great artist.
Ok ok, now that I have talked about movies and music, lets get on with the main reason anyone has come to check out this site... sports. Here are some picks for today:
1) MLB: Oakland A's
If anyone saw or heard about last nights meeting between these teams they know that the A's lost a game they should not have. In the top of the 9th the A's hit a game tying home run that hit a railing in the outfield and bounced back onto the field. It was clear to everyone that it was a home run except the 4 umpires. It was ruled to be a double and the A's ended up losing. Today they are gonna come out hitting angry. The Indians, who have been hot lately, are sending Scott Kazmir to the mound tonight. Well Kazmir has an ERA this season over 6 and I have to believe that the A's are gonna want to match that ERA in just the first inning. I expect the A's to have a big game and try to make up for that bad loss last night.
Confidence: 60%
2) MLB: New York Yankees
If I made a list of my biggest surprises this season, along with the Red Sox, the Rockies would be at the top of that list. In my baseball prediction column I wrote at the beginning of the season I picked the Rockies to be down at the bottom of the NL West. Now it is still early, but they are playing great baseball. But tonight they go up against Sabathia. Not to mention, their pitcher Jeff Francis has an ERA above 7. The Rockies may surprise me again tonight, but I think this is the Yankees game.
Confidence: 70%
3) NHL: Montreal Canadians
The Canadians are on the verge of losing the series and ending their seasons tonight as they take on the Senators at home. Not that home ice makes a big impact in the NHL, but I think the Canadians figure out a way to get the win tonight. The statistics in this series have been close but the Canadians are leading in shots on goal. If they can continue to get the puck near the net, eventually they will find the back of the net.
4) Soccer: 31 Minute or later
If you take at where these two teams are in the Liga MX table, their lines are almost identical
| CLUB | P | W | D | L | GD | PTS |
| Morelia | 17 | 8 | 6 | 3 | 7 | 30 |
| Cruz Azul | 17 | 8 | 5 | 4 | 15 | 29 |
This should be a great match and since the two teams are so evenly matched I think it may take a while for the play to develop and I don't expect to see a goal in the first half our of the match.
Since it is stunt day, you should try and pick more than these 4 picks, but the rest of them are random golf picks that will simply require good luck. If you want to try and find stats for how some of these players have historically shot on certain holes at the TPC Sawgrass and you want to factor in how well they will be playing today and all that, then best of luck finding those stats. I for one will just guess. So best of luck and share those $5,000 dollars with us if you win!
