I'm back! With SFTC picks for Sunday 5/12

Ok everyone, Clark Stonehocker here.  It's good to be back!!  Now that my end-of-semester projects are done, I have time to get back to sports and these fantasy games!

Jim will continue to do picks for soccer and NBA.  We will also try our best to have daily Beat the Streak picks and analysis on the 1-N-Done game.

We could use your help to spread the word about the site.  We also invite you to follow us on Twitter @TheFantasySC and join our groups if you haven't done so already.

Many thanks to Jim for doing picks for the site during my absence.  He's a great friend of mine, and I love his sense of humor.  Yes Jim, I do read your posts :)

So how has everyone's month gone?  This month has been really tough, especially the golf props.  I'll readily admit, I've sucked at the golf picks of the last couple of days.  I honestly have had no time for research or anything though.  I've just kind of been going with the flow.  Now I'm back to blogging and researching though, so without further adieu, here are our picks.  I will do more in the morning. :)

Our top stash picks:
  1. MLB:  New York Mets
Our picks for all props:
  1. LAX:  Maryland Terapins
    • This game is an NCAA tournament quarterfinals game.  Maryland has lost a couple times recently when featured on Streak for the Cash, namely against Virginia and.  However, they are 13 - 2 all time against Cornell, although have not played them since 2000.  This game is a home game for Maryland, and home-field advantage will be huge.  Maryland should easily win this one at home.
    • Confidence: 75%
  2. MLB:  New York Mets
    • The Mets have lost the last two to the Pirates, but with Harvey on the mound for the Mets, the losing stops here.  Harvey is undeated so far this season, going 4 - 0 with a 1.28 ERA.  He nearly had a perfect game in his last start, giving up one hit to the White Sox in the 9th inning.  Incredibly, the line for this game is Mets -210, and they are at home, so I have to take them here.
    • Confidence: 80%
  3. Golf:  Any Other Golfer
    • Right now, the chances of Garcia or Woods winning this are pretty good, but they have Stenson tied with them and Lingmerth ahead of them by 2 strokes.  There are also a number of golfers only behind by 1 or 2 strokes.  One thing to note is that round 3 has not even been completed yet, so you may want to see the results after they finish the 3rd round early in the morning.  This AOG option has won the last few times a similar prop has been featured though.
    • Confidence: 70%
  4. MLB:  New York Yankees
    • The Yankees go for the series road sweep of the Royals here, something they have not done in almost 6 years.  They have had great success against the Royals' Ervin Santana, who is 0 - 5 with a 6.75 ERA in his last 8 starts against the Yankees.  Kuroda has been great for the Yankees.  He has not gotten a lot of run support, but with the Yankees' history against Santana, I think they get the win.
    • Confidence: 65%
  5. MLB:  Baltimore Orioles
    • I'm giving the edge to the Orioles in this one because of Chen's success, Diamond's lack of success at home, and the Orioles' hitting numbers against the Twins.  They have split the previous two games of this series.
    • Confidence: 60%
  6. Other:  Real Madrid
    • From what I've found, Real Madrid are 3.5 point favorites.  Both teams are 9 - 2 in their last 11.  Olympiakos is coming off a huge win over CSKA Moscow where they were about 7 point underdogs.  The only common opponent that these two played recently was Anadolu Efes.  Olympiakos has played them 5 times, winning 3, each by 10 or less points.  Real Madrid played them only once and won by 20.
    • Confidence: 60%
  7. MLB:  Atlanta Braves
    • Given Lincecum's recent form, it's tough to pick the Giants with any confidence when he's pitching.  He is 0 - 4 with a 4.38 ERA in his last four starts against the Braves.  The line is Braves -100, and they should tie up the series with the Giants here.
    • Confidence: 65%
  8. MLB:  Philadelphia Phillies
    • Although the line is DBacks -120, I'm taking the Phillies here.  Kyle Kendrick has been one of the best pitchers in baseball.  McCarthy for the DBacks has been anything but.  He has yet to win a game with the DBacks and has a 6.75 ERA on the season.
    • Confidence: 70%
  9. MLB:  Oakland As
    • Yes the As finally broke their losing streak yesterday, and yes Milone has lost his last 4 starts, and yes the line is Mariners -105, but I believe the As get the win tonight to take the series from the Mariners.
    • Confidence: 60%
  10. MLB:  Los Angeles Angels
    • I'm a little reluctant to take the Angels with Sale pitching for the White Sox, but the Sox have been commiting errors and just haven't played that well lately.  The Angels have won the previous two of this series and should get the series sweep tonight.
    • Confidence: 60%
  11. MLB:  C.J. Wilson or tie
    • This can be a total tossup prop, but I think Sale is the better pitcher.  I just hope the White Sox can have good at bats to stay at the plate and force Wilson to throw more pitches.
    • Confidence: 60%
  12. MLB:  Yes 1+ home runs hit during innings 4 - 6
    • Home runs happen most often in these mid-game innings, and the yes option on this type of prop has a very high winning margin.  My guess is that the bomb will be hit by Trout, Trumbo, or another Angels player.
    • Confidence: 70%
  13. MLB:  Yes 1+ batters reach full count in top of 8th
    • I'm taking the yes option in this one because it has won many times in the past.  This pick may change though depending on previous innings, so stay tuned.
    • Confidence: 60%
